Year 3 Creates Characters Inspired by Roald Dahl

Year 3 has been learning how to draw characters from Roald Dahl’s books in the distinctive style of illustrator Quentin Blake. As part of this work, the children chose to design a three-dimensional character from one of Dahl’s stories using newspaper.
To prepare for this project, they practised forming different shapes by scrunching paper in a variety of ways, developing their sculpting skills and understanding of form. Year 3 is looking forward to seeing how their finished characters turn out as the project continues.
